Weinor Kubata Awning

Kubata - Good to know before you buy!

Avoid operating the awning in frosty conditions, as frozen components may become damaged. If use is unavoidable, monitor the system closely to stop it immediately if resistance is detected. Tip: in freezing weather, switch off automatic weather sensors to prevent unintentional retraction or extension when you're not at home.
While awnings can handle higher wind speeds (refer to product data for specifics), it’s recommended to retract them before strong winds arise to prevent potential damage. Adding a wind sensor helps automate this process, ensuring your awning is protected even when you're not around.
Awnings are primarily designed to provide shade and heat protection, not rain cover. It's best to retract your awning during wet weather to avoid fabric wrinkling, water marks, or mildew. If the fabric becomes damp, extend it to dry out as soon as conditions improve to maintain its quality.
If you need to retract the awning while the fabric is still damp, rainwater may enter the cassette. Water can also seep into a closed awning, especially when installed on a weather-exposed side of the building. However, the fabric remains protected, as integrated drainage channels collect and safely divert the water. Some residual drainage may also occur when the awning is extended again after rainfall.
Awning fabrics naturally respond to external weather conditions. Depending on whether it’s dry or humid, warm or cold, the fabric may expand or contract slightly. The overall size of the awning system can also influence this effect. As a result, you might notice gentle waves or folds forming in the fabric. These are completely normal and do not affect the performance or durability of your awning in any way.
Due to environmental factors and the nature of the manufacturing process, some slight irregularities may occur – such as creases, slight bulging or wrinkling caused by variations in how the fabric winds around the roller tube. You might also notice minor rippling or stretching near the seams, or a honeycomb-like texture in certain areas. Rest assured, these are perfectly normal characteristics of high-quality awning fabrics and do not affect their performance or durability. These small imperfections are not considered defects and are not valid reasons for a return or complaint.
What one person may find loud and distracting can be barely noticeable to someone else, and this also applies to any creaking sounds your product may produce. As temperatures fluctuate, the materials in your awning naturally expand or contract, which can lead to occasional noise. This is a normal and unavoidable process. You may also hear sounds when the awning is being extended or retracted. These noises can vary in volume depending on the specific building conditions. However, rest assured – these creaking and operational sounds do not affect the functionality of your awning in any way.
It is sensible to check your awning from time to time to ensure that everything appears as it should and remains securely in place. Should you notice anything unusual, feel free to contact us to arrange a maintenance visit. We also advise cleaning the system at least once a year, or twice if it sees frequent use. If you are planning to be away for an extended period, be sure to retract the awning and set the automatic control to “OFF”. This will prevent it from operating without supervision while you are away.
Should you decide, after your awning has been installed, that you would like a bit more comfort after all, a variety of additional products is available as part of Weinor’s modular system and can be retrofitted with ease. Whether you are interested in an automatic weather sensor, a heating system, integrated lighting, new fabric or vertical sun protection for your pergola awning, everything is designed to work together seamlessly. Of course, there are some technical limitations to these additional options. However, such cases are rare, and we are continually working to resolve them.
You don’t need to keep an eye on your awning for it to do its job. Equipped with weather sensors, your radio-controlled awning can extend automatically when the sun comes out and retract when it starts to rain or the wind picks up. This helps maintain a more agreeable temperature both on your patio and indoors. With the appropriate sensor, you can also help protect your awning from potential damage caused by bad weather.
For an awning to function as it should, all components need to operate in perfect harmony. Even slight unevenness in the wall surface can affect how smoothly the awning runs. Weinor awnings are designed to respond to the condition of the installation surface and can compensate for any irregularities where required. Any resulting joints are not a flaw – in fact, they help maintain the awning’s performance.
